Land Titles and Surveys common documents fee schedule
The following scenarios illustrate the fee increase in typical transactions.
If you are purchasing a property and not getting a mortgage or a line of credit:
Purchase Price $400,000.00
Current Land Titles fees: $130.00
New Land Titles Fees $210.00
If you are purchasing a property and getting a mortgage or a line of credit
Purchase Price $400,000.00 Mortgage/Line of Credit Amount $350,000.00
Current Land Titles fees: $250.00
New Land Titles Fees $365.00
If you are selling a property:
If there is a mortgage/line of credit or encumbrance that needs to be removed from title, Land Titles will charge $10.00 for each encumbrance to be removed as of January 1, 2020. The current charge to remove an encumbrance from title is $5.00 each.
If you are refinancing a property (no change to the owners just a new mortgage or line of credit)
New Mortgage Amount $300,000.00
Current Land Titles Fees: $110.00 for registration of new mortgage plus $5.00 for each encumbrance that needs to be removed from title (ie. Discharge your existing mortgage)
New Land Titles Fee: $140 for the registration of the new mortgage plus $10.00 for each encumbrance that needs to be removed from title (ie. Discharge your existing mortgage)
